The Trailer as Story – Why Your Two-Minute Preview Needs Its Own Narrative Arc

By admin· November 23, 2025· 👁 22

A trailer is not a highlight reel. The best trailers are short films with their own beginning, middle, and end. They create tension, offer resolution, and leave a question unanswered—just enough to make you need the full story.

Study the trailers for King of Boys or A Tribe Called Judah. Neither simply shows best clips. Each opens with scene-setting, builds through escalating tension, and closes with a visual that lingers.

For marketing agencies, this means treating trailer production as a creative brief in its own right—not an afterthought once the edit is done. A great trailer can outlive a film.
