International buyers want African content. But they don't always know how to evaluate it, and Nigerian producers don't always know how to present it.
The pitch for an international buyer needs to lead with universality, then land with specificity. Start with the human question at the heart of the story, then bring in the Nigerian context that makes it distinct and irreplaceable.
And the comps matter. "This is Nigeria's Breaking Bad" lands differently to "this is a crime drama." Know your genre, know your market, and know how to position your story in a global conversation.
